Alternative Investment Advisory

About Us
Kye& Investment serves as a strategic gateway for global alternative asset managers seeking to enter the Korean institutional market. We specialize in helping managers navigate the complexities of this landscape, ensuring they avoid costly missteps while building a credible and resilient investor base. As an independent private capital advisory firm, we focus on mobilizing capital for private equity, private credit, infrastructure, real estate and other alternative strategies.

Our expertise is particularly relevant for funds exceeding $1 billion. This focus allows us to align global strategies with the distinct ticket sizes and decision-making dynamics of Korea’s leading institutional allocators, who represent over $1.7 trillion in aggregate assets. We pride ourselves on delivering high-touch, hands-on execution for complex mandates that require deep local market insight and disciplined investor coverage.

GP Advisory Services
Strategic Advisory Services
Kye& Investment provides high-touch, customized advisory services for global investment firms navigating the idiosyncratic and complex Korean capital market. Our team is dedicated to helping clients mobilize capital for private equity, private credit, infrastructure, and energy transition strategies through a disciplined, four-phase execution model.
A Comprehensive Fundraising Lifecycle
Our lifecycle support begins with strategic fund advisory and pre-marketing outreach to map the relevant investor universe. We then lead the formal fundraising campaign, coordinating roadshows and investor meetings while providing transparent, regular reporting on all institutional interactions. To ensure a successful closing, we manage the intensive due diligence process and the complex logistics of execution workstreams

Structural and Regulatory Mastery
We facilitate compliant access to the Korean institutional market through a specialized master-feeder framework in accordance with the Financial Investment Services and Capital Markets Act (FISCMA). By coordinating the formation of Korea-domiciled feeder trusts ("K-Trusts")—a structure utilized in over 95% of successful institutional fundraising cases—we manage all execution logistics alongside licensed local partners to ensure smooth transaction flows and ongoing regulatory alignment. This high-touch approach allows global GPs to navigate the Korean landscape with confidence while providing a familiar and efficient investment vehicle for their local LPs.

The South Korean Market
South Korea has solidified its position as a global institutional powerhouse, representing an aggregate institutional capital pool of more than $1.7 trillion. This vast ecosystem is anchored by the National Pension Service (NPS)—the world’s third-largest pension fund managing approximately $1.1 trillion—and the Korea Investment Corporation (KIC), which manages over $230 billion in assets. Complemented by a network of over 50 sophisticated pension funds, insurance companies, and mutual-aid associations, the Korean market has become an essential destination for top-tier global alternative asset managers.

The 2026 landscape is defined by sophisticated institutional priorities, with a heightened focus on DPI (Distributed to Paid-In capital) and near-term realizations over unrealized value. Amid persistent inflation and a higher-rate environment, Korean allocators are increasingly favoring private credit and asset-backed finance strategies. Furthermore, return hurdles are strictly assessed in KRW; consequently, high USD hedging costs have notably increased the attractiveness of EUR-denominated opportunities for many domestic institutions.

As flagship institutions like the NPS and KIC raise minimum commitment sizes to between $100 million and $300 million, the need for a sophisticated, localized narrative has never been more critical for global GPs. Success in this competitive arena requires navigating distinct decision-making dynamics and complex regulatory frameworks, such as the master-feeder structures used in over 95% of cases. A committed local partner is essential to overcome communication barriers and ensure efficient, high-impact engagement with the right prospects.
